Training must be of 400 hours and more.
 The naturotherapist must be 18 and over, a Canadian citizen or an authorised resident or must hold a Canadian work permit.
The subjects taught and the number of hours may vary according to the same training schools. To be approved, it must be noted that training that seems appropriate must respect ANQ standard. After study of the therapist’s file by the admission comity, the ANQ reserves the right to extend credit course equivalencies when the training record allows it.

Under no circumstances, the ANQ has been placed, is placed and will be placed in conflict of interest. Thus, any individual graduate from a naturotherapeutic or a perinatal naturotherapeutic training school with contents meeting the requirements of the ANQ, will be given access to become an active member of the association.
The ANQ members have an extensive training of high quality. However, they are invited to pursue continuous training to answer the changing standard of this evolving domain.
In order to consolidate and standardize the field of naturotherapy, the ANQ now requires all its member therapists to have a common background in dietetics.
This 150 hours of core courses consists of:
The basics of naturopatherapy, the various pathologies, which can identify a pathology and why, the role of the adviser and observer, how to advise for each pathology and symptom, the main medicinal plants.
Proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals.
Food compatibility, acid and alkaline foods, managing inflammation with food.
Health profile, morphology, psychology and nutrition, ethics and recordkeeping.
Anatomy 30 hrs
General anatomy, the various systems of the body, anatomy related to the digestion process and effects.
